Kien Giang has over 143 islands and islets with a total area of 77.650ha, in which 43 islands have people living. The system of islands and archipelago of the province has great potential for development of eco-tourism and resort. Becoming the host of National Tourism Year 2016 – Phu Quoc – Mekong Delta with the theme “Discover southern land” is an advantage in creating conditions for further promotion of potential, strengths and local image in order to attract investment to Kien Giang.

Phu Quoc and Nam Du islands are famous islands in Kien Giang that just hearding the name is enough to make visitors feel curious and want to explore these places.
Phu Quoc Island
Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam which has been called the pearl island with unspoiled and mysterious beauty and beautiful beaches.
Phu Quoc has the world’s most beautiful beaches like Sao Beach, Long Beach and dozens of other pristine beaches. You can visit Phu Quoc in three main directions of North, South and East.
The landmarks in north include Natural Reservation center, Ham Rong Mountain, Ganh Dau, Cua Can, Long Beach, Da Ngon and Da Ban stream, Nguyen Trung Truc’s temple.

Nam Du archipelago
Nam Du archipelago is located in the southeast of Phu Quoc island, Kien Giang province, about 90 km from the mainland, including 21 islands, creating a great scene in the Gulf of Thailand. From Rach Gia, visitors catch the high-speed train to Nam Du. After nearly 3 hours, you will set foot on the Big Island with a green space of sky and sea. In spite of no hotel or resort, you can choose a room of some families on the island or camp overnight on the beach. Starting the journey to explore Nam Du archipelago you surely can not ignore the beautiful unspoilt beaches which are considered as a specialty of the archipelago. Bai Men and Hon Mau is one of two destinations with sandy shore, green coconut trees and clear sea water.
Besides, the coral reefs and colorful fish in Hon Ong area will attract travelers. Just wearing diving goggles and snorkel, you can easily dive around to explore undersea world. Nam Du archipelago is not only beautiful but also has abundant local products. In addition, the seafood here is also very cheap. It is easy to buy green crab, grouper, cobia, blue bone fish … right in the fishermen’s boats.
Ending your journey in Nam Du, you can not miss the tour to Nam Du’s lighthouse. This is the highest point of the island where you can observe the entire scenery of island. You will remember the moments to welcome a new dawn or sunset coming down the horizon.
