The closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2015 in Thanh Hoa

On the evening of December 26th, 2015, the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2015 with the theme “Shining a legacy domain” solemnly took place at Lam Son Square, Thanh Hoa.

The closing ceremony of National Tourism Year 2015

The closing ceremony had the presence of Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism and Head of the Steering Committee of National Tourism Year 2015 Hoang Tuan Anh; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien; leaders of other departments and ministries, Thanh Hoa’s leaders and numerous guests and local people.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh appreciated efforts of Thanh Hoa province and local institutions contributing to the success of National Tourism Year 2015. Under the theme of “Connecting the World Heritages”, Thanh Hoa province has worked with others to develop product, create attractive destinations chain, promote the special value of the cultural heritage in tourism development.

The aims in near future

To promote the achievements and overcome the limitations, Minister Hoang Tuan Anh suggested that in near future, Thanh Hoa and localities should further promote social awareness of tourism; suggest policies and mechanisms to attract strategic investors to create tourism products and services with high quality; improve efficiency in economic management, human resource training and improve the efficiency of the State management in tourism …

In the National Tourism Year 2015, there were 61 large-scale events took place, including 17 event hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism; 20 event hosted by the Thanh Hoa province and 24 events organized by the provinces and cities in the country, creating a chain of continuous and widespread activities throughout the country.

In 2015, the number of tourists coming to the heritage province or city increased rapidly, 11% higher than that of 2014, total revenues from tourists increased by over 13%. Particularly Thanh Hoa province in 2015 welcomed over 5.5 million passengers, up 21.9% compared to 2014, in which international visitors reached 127 thousand passengers (up 26.2%); total revenue from tourists reached 5,180 billion, up 40.4% compared with 2014.

The event is also an opportunity to promote the beauty of the land and people to tourists in the nation and internation, contributing to the strong links of tourism development between Thanh Hoa provinces and other provinces or countries

The National Tourism Year 2016 – Phu Quoc – Mekong Delta will be held in Kien Giang province with the theme “Discovering the land of the South”.
